But simply an emotion that calls to be released in healthy ways?⁣⁣

In the end ⁣⁣

The tiniest gesture⁣⁣

The littlest thing⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Almost negligible ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Is what we hold closest to our hearts and can coax us back from the brink of the dark vault.⁣⁣

The way you hold your cup so dear in your palms touched my soul and sent feathery warmth through me, changing the colours of my perceptions.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

The way you shower the pot with hot water and then picked off the lid with that weathered hand of yours⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Waking up the leaves with water poured straight out of the clay kettle － this moved me to the infinite depths that feel so dear to me.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

It is these simple nonchalant gestures that leave the deepest impression. ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Like the kindness of a group of strangers gathered in the name of love,⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Or the apologies of a loved one.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

When we stand too close to the picture we cannot see the truth of the matter.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

The truth of the matter is⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Even the best of us can forget to appreciate the tiny mementoes.⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Even the most loving of us cannot hear ⁣⁣

⁣the beseeching plea for help through our laughter ⁣⁣

⁣⁣

Even the most caring can neglect to savour the quotidian moments. ⁣⁣

We are always looking for grandeur to exalt. Tea however, teaches us to appreciate the ordinary. We exalt the simple things. We learn not to take any minutiae for granted. We learn that the grand moments are built upon tiny moments in life. Simply leaves and hot water.
